"Be the light that helps others see!"

Through my art, I strive to capture the feeling of the ocean, or forests, and share it in a way that instills a sense of serenity within people's lives. At the same time I listen to what the clay or canvas wants to be. I set out to make a feeling, and particularly with porcelain, "she" decides what "she" will be and we work together to form something from a beautiful feeling. Each piece I create is a part of me passed to you. Enjoy! My mission is for my art to bring engaging conversation, a sense of "Ah" a smile, and peace.

My love of clay started when I was five

Growing up, I spent my summers exploring the natural wonders near the Puget Sound, where my family rented a cabin. One transformative day, a neighbor's teenage daughter introduced me to the native clay nestled in the cliffs by the water's edge. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for working with clay to create unique, artful pieces that capture the beauty of the Pacific Northwest landscape. (Photo: High School 1980)

BA in Art

Attending the University of Puget Sound was a formative time; fueling my curiosity and passion for the arts. One day a professor approached me and asked if my oval teapot (shown at right) could be sold at a silent auction, "Yes, of course!". Where it sold for $280, which was a lot of money at the time. By the end of my first year, my dedication and talent had been recognized with the "Carlton Ball Award" for best ceramic artist.

Fast Forward

After raising a family, working in the corporate world, and even founding and running a successful water purification company called GRAYL, the pull of clay remained inescapable. Answering that lifelong calling, I have returned to my passion. This full circle to my artistic roots has proven to be the most rewarding chapter yet. As I pour my energy and experience into creating one-of-a-kind art pieces that capture the beauty of the natural world.
